My name is Lavina Mehta and I am a Kathak dancer. My journey in the study of dance, first in Bharatanatyam and then in Kathak has added a rich, spiritual dimension to my life. I am ever grateful to all the artists that struggle daily to keep our heritage alive. About Fundraiser: In support of critical financial infrastructure to support the next generation of artists

I cannot remember a time when classical Indian dance was not a part of my life. In my childhood, my study of Bharatanatyam gave me strength and focus, and taught me the value of dedication and devotion. In my adulthood, Kathak feeds my soul, providing a spiritual dimension that helps me reach a level of fulfillment that I could not have achieved otherwise. 

I am ever grateful to each and every artist that contributes to sustaining India's rich heritage. It pains me to see the lack of financial infrastructure to support the next generation of artists, and the hesitation of upcoming artists to pursue their dreams due to a lack of financial support.
