My birthday is August 11th, and as a kathak dancer who is aligned with the leela foundation, all I would like instead of material gifts for my 20th birthday is for you to donate to Leela, an organization aimed at securing a future for India’s Artistic & Cultural Heritage.

About Sasha's Birthday Fundraiser in Celebration of Kathak Dance

Kathak has been a passion of mine for several years, and being a part of the community has made me realize how little funding there is within the field. I love this dance form so much, and seeing it devalued every day within society breaks my heart. If there is any way you can find it in your heart to donate, even just $10, you would be not only pushing forward my passion, but also opening doors for esteemed Indian musicians, dancers, and patrons who have dedicated their entire lives to the Leela Foundation.
