We were incredibly proud of the opportunity to donate the proceeds from Yuvati Utthan to the Leela Endowment because it gave us the chance to spread our love and joy for our art to the world. As YC members, we are taught that we’re never too young to create meaningful change.

About Yuvati Utthan - Girls on the Rise

In December 2017, CYDC presented Yuvati Utthan - Girls on the Rise. The performance was so successful that, not only were they able to cover costs through ticket sales, they made a $1,000 surplus. The girls decided to donate the money to the Leela Endowment.

CYDC is an elite pre-professional troupe, ages 12-18, under the tutelage and artistic direction of internationally renowned kathak artist, Rachna Nivas, and Assistant Director, Ahana Mukherjee. The program champions excellence in dance, youth leadership, and creative discovery.
